A College Degree Remains The Best Investment For Future Success
Preview:
“College isn’t for everyone.” “People can be just as successful without a college degree.” We hear these phrases all too frequently in society today. Yet the people often making these statements are the same people who attended college themselves and are sending their own children to universities all across America.
It’s ironic that some of higher education’s most forceful critics are also some of its staunchest consumers, including in our halls of power. For example, while Congress moves to make dramatic cuts to higher education, a December 2024 analysis by the Chronicle of Higher Education shows that more than 96 percent of its current members hold a bachelor’s degree or higher, compared to just 38 percent of Americans overall.
